    I wanted to ship a piece of furniture to a friend. The person at the UPS store took down the dimensions and gave me a rough estimate. We both talked about the fact that to be safe I should expect to pay about $100 based on the fact that the package weighed about 75 pounds plus packaging. The staff was very likeable and affable. It took about forty five minutes for them to wrap the package once I got it in the store. When they finally weighed it, it weighed 89 pounds and the total went to around $221! At this, I was extremely upset and wanted to just take my package and leave. They told me it would be 37.02 to take the package. I paid the money and left because I did not want to say anything that might make a scene. After taking a while to cool off, I called the store and asked to speak with the manager to explain to her what had happened. I said that they never should have taken an estimate for something that large over the phone. I would have been glad to bring it up there beforehand. The manager was very nice but stated that she could not do anything about it. She said that this happens all the time. Really? She finally said that she would be happy to call the owner and see what could be done. I agreed. I also called the other store in town and asked to speak with the owner (the same people run both stores) who was working there at the time. I left a message but she did not call me back. The manager I had spoken with before called me back about 20 minutes later and said that after reviewing everything, they had made a mistake and would be glad to refund my money. I thought this was awesome. I told her that I would bring by my receipt in about an hour to get my refund. I live about three miles from the store. This would be my second trip there today, not to mention loading and then unloading, then loading then unloading this package. In other words, I have already spent ten or so dollars in gas going back and forth, not mention my time. When I walked through the door with my receipt, an associate came to help me and asked where the package was. I told her that no one told me to bring it in, apparently they expected me to wait there while they broke down the box again that it had taken them forty five minutes to pack before. There was another worker there I did not recognize. I think she may have been the owner. At any rate, she had an attitude. Apparently, she thinks I do this everyday. She looked at me like I was crazy to not have come back with that 89 lb box in tow. I left the store and told them to forget about it. Apparently $37.02 is worth more than customer satisfaction. Now I feel like I have done something wrong. They made me feel like a shoplifter. Now, instead of coming back to them, I will never use their store or any other ups store for the foreseeable future. I will also advise anyone who broaches the subject that they should not use them either. PLEASE ASK THEM TO WEIGH YOUR PACKAGES BEFORE THEY WRAP THEM IN MOUNTAINS OF TAPE AND CARDBOARD. My bad this time, but it will never happen again. Thanks UPS! I would of course be willing to take my $37.02, but they will have to Paypal me........

    I have making numerous phone calls and begging people at this store to help me with filing a claim since my son's gift was lost over a month ago! Good luck if you ever have to go through the agony of getting a claim filed through this store!! I will not use UPS or go to this store ever again!! I have been given the run around from them and the UPS corporate office. What a ripoff!! I sent Christmas gifts last week to my son in okc using good ole USPS and he received them! Then I sent a different gift using Fed Ex and guess what??!! He got it today! Yeah don't use UPS unless you want upset yourself and your family members.
